Purple Thai, feminized Seeds

Purple Thai originates from Thailand. Furthermore, it represents one of the oldest native landrace breeds in the world. In its native region, this plant regularly grows up to four meters tall. Additionally, it develops slender leaves and long, conic flowers with very long hairs.

Generally, you can find two distinct phenotypes. Specifically, one phenotype displays a beautiful purple shimmer on the leaves and flowers. Meanwhile, the other phenotype develops dark green leaves heavily covered in trichomes.

Climate and Origin

In Thailand, the hours of sunshine vary very little between seasons. Therefore, local cultivators can sometimes achieve two harvests per year. However, the extremely strong monsoon rains often prevent this practice. Consequently, growers cultivate these pure sativas mainly during the summer months.

Psychedelic Effects

Purple Thai is a powerful variety that delivers strong sativa effects. Initially, the high offers a powerful psychedelic rush of pure happiness. Furthermore, this landrace strain rewards users with a highly introspective experience. Therefore, it perfectly satisfies those who love marijuana for its mind-opening qualities. Most importantly, it is ideal for meditation, yoga, or any creative moment.

Aroma, Taste and THC Content

The dark buds of Purple Thai possess an amazing exotic flavor. Specifically, they taste like sweet, fresh berries. In addition, labs measured the average THC content at an impressive 24%. Breeders stabilized this high value by selecting the strongest Thai mother plant and using specialized breeding methods.

Growing Purple Thai

Purple Thai requires a flowering period of 11 to 13 weeks. Therefore, you can harvest the plants at the end of October or the beginning of November outdoors. Consequently, northern European growers should cultivate this strain exclusively in greenhouses. This practice successfully protects the plants from autumn storms and low temperatures.

Cultivation Techniques

Growers should initiate the flowering phase after three to four weeks of vegetative growth. Furthermore, Purple Thai performs exceptionally well in SCROG and SOG setups. Growing in a Screen of Green system offers enough space for the branches to spread out. In addition, this variety thrives equally well in either hydro or soil systems.

Color and Yields

Interestingly, lower temperatures toward the end of the cycle trigger beautiful color changes. Consequently, the shades often turn dark violet or even blue. Indoors, mature plants grow up to 80 or 90 centimeters. Furthermore, they are full of heavy buds with a dark purple color and orange hairs.

Indoor growers can expect a yield of more than 500 grams per square meter. Meanwhile, outdoor cultivation produces yields up to one kilogram per plant under optimal conditions.

Medical Use

It is well suited for use in the morning. It is great for dealing with numerous ailments such as stress, depression, and loss of appetite.
